Butler Tree Walk

The Butler University campus is a wooded oasis in an urban setting. A variety of natural areas that are remnants of plant communities characteristic of presettlement central Indiana still remain.

The following pages describe trees that are found on the Butler campus, plus other useful information and resources about trees.  Use the “Tree Search” button to locate trees found on the Butler University campus. To search for other species of trees that have been observed in other Marion County locations, go to Marion County Flora Search.

Brochures of the “Trees of the Butler Campus Arboretum” describes 30 tree species of interest on campus and provides a map for a tour. Brochures may be obtained by calling the Herbarium at 940-9413 or 940-8302 or e-mail a request to mmoore@butler.edu.

A PDF version of the Tree Walk Map may also be downloaded and printed for your convenience.
