Member of the Fumariaceae (Fumitory) family. Found in rich woods, grows 5 - 9 inches, April - May. A delicate spray of waxy, yellow-tipped flowers drooping in a row from an arched stem. Each flower has 2 inflated spurs that suggest the legs of tiny pantaloons, "ankles-up." Leaves much dissected. Roots a cluster of many small white tubers.
